evepostappleOnce upon a time, there was a woman named Eve, who, unable to resist the luring temptation of a fragrant orchard, took a bite of forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge. Perhaps Eve was bored. Perhaps she was ovulating and had a desperate craving for something sweet. Perhaps life in the little garden was becoming stressful or claustrophobic. Perhaps she felt out of control or lacked passion in her life and in order to numb her emotions or soothe herself from Adam's lack of attention or his ambivalence in starting a family, she chose to indulge. Perhaps Eve was an emotional eater. But as Eve soon discovered, neither the bite, nor the whole fruit fulfilled her as she had hoped. Not only did she realize she was naked but that she had contempt for the way she looked. Perhaps Eve suffered with body dismorphia. Eve tried to stop eating the forbidden fruit and eventually avoided eating altogether but that didn't work and she ended up eating until she could no longer breathe. The point of this is that Eve lost her intuitive ability to nourish herself. She no longer had balance in her life and was willing to do any and everything to get that back.

Maybe Eve didn't exist. Maybe the stories that were told are not as important as the stories we tell ourselves.

This blog is dedicated to creating new stories based on the philosophies of whole body nutrition, self-love, intuition, fitness and yoga.

In my journey I have sought to uncover the knowledge and balance which have brought me to a greater awareness of health and this is what I wish to share with you.

Zain’s Decadent Pecan Pie OR Chocolate Pecan Pie Pancakes
For those of you who have been with me for awhile, you will know that I adore my pancakes and often eat them for a couple meals out of my day due to the nutritious and delicious factor that these pancakes provide.
I have also got many of my friends and clients eating them and they will tell you first hand that they feel as though you are having a dirty, dirty cheat but you’re not so if clean pancakes are not a part of your meal plan yet…get em in kids!
I have been on a bit of a spice trip and a bit of a pie trip lately (if you haven’t noticed) and today created these amazing pecan pie pancakes.  They are scary good so I just had to post them immediately.
Ingredients for Zain’s Decadent Pecan Pie Pancakes:
7.5 Egg Whites
1/4 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (I use Interactive Vanilla Whey)
1/2 Cup Oats
16g Pecans (separated into two equal portions, chopped or whole)
1/2 Banana
2-3 Drops Natural Vanilla OR Rum Flavouring (optional)
1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
1/8 Tsp Cinnamon
1/8 Tsp All Spice
1/8 Tsp Ground Ginger
20g Majool Dates
1-2 Packets Stevia/Splenda
Cooking Spray
Ingredients for Zain’s Decadent Chocolate Pecan Pie Pancakes:
Same as above except for the following changes:
Omit: The spices (cinnamon, ginger, allspice) unless you prefer the taste with chocolate, personally I omit
Swap Majool Dates for:
11/2 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa
1/4 Cup Greek Yogurt
1 Tbsp Unsweetened Chocolate Chips (optional topping)
Directions:

1. Blend all ingredients except pecans, in magic bullet or food processor
2. Spray pan with cooking spray and then spread batter evenly over pan and add in 1/2 portion of         chopped pecans
3. Cook until golden and slightly crispy on both sides
4. Top with sugar-free syrup and 1/2 chopped or whole pecans (and/or unsweetened chocolate chips)
