evepostappleOnce upon a time, there was a woman named Eve, who, unable to resist the luring temptation of a fragrant orchard, took a bite of forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge. Perhaps Eve was bored. Perhaps she was ovulating and had a desperate craving for something sweet. Perhaps life in the little garden was becoming stressful or claustrophobic. Perhaps she felt out of control or lacked passion in her life and in order to numb her emotions or soothe herself from Adam's lack of attention or his ambivalence in starting a family, she chose to indulge. Perhaps Eve was an emotional eater. But as Eve soon discovered, neither the bite, nor the whole fruit fulfilled her as she had hoped. Not only did she realize she was naked but that she had contempt for the way she looked. Perhaps Eve suffered with body dismorphia. Eve tried to stop eating the forbidden fruit and eventually avoided eating altogether but that didn't work and she ended up eating until she could no longer breathe. The point of this is that Eve lost her intuitive ability to nourish herself. She no longer had balance in her life and was willing to do any and everything to get that back.

Maybe Eve didn't exist. Maybe the stories that were told are not as important as the stories we tell ourselves.

This blog is dedicated to creating new stories based on the philosophies of whole body nutrition, self-love, intuition, fitness and yoga.

In my journey I have sought to uncover the knowledge and balance which have brought me to a greater awareness of health and this is what I wish to share with you.

Tomorrow after months of hard work, Tosca Reno will grace the competition stage in honour of her late husband Robert ‘Tough Love’ Kennedy.
As you know, Tosca is a major inspiration in my life as it is was after discovering her Eat Clean Diet series of books that I began to understand what it meant to truly nourish my body, what appropriate portion sizes actually looked like and how to enjoy eating the foods I loved by transforming them using clean ingredients.
What I love most about Tosca is that at 53 years old, in honour of her husband, she is willing to put everything aside and dedicate herself to something that I’m sure has helped her realize what she is truly made of.  Tosca has gone through an incredible transformation in terms of her health and her life and has used this experience to guide others toward a path of health and wellness.  I pray that one day, I will have inspired as many people to strive for optimal health as she has and am proud to be an ambassador in the cause.
By her side through the process has been her coach and another one of my mentors, Rita Catolino and this is what she has to say:

This is it. We are here. Tosca competes this Saturday and all of the hours of planning, dedication, hard work, food plans, wine bottles unopened, and toting around Tupperware will be judged in under 30 seconds. It seems unfair, but it is the nature of the beast. These past 5 months have been quite the adventure.  The coach aspect of the show is always excting the week of the show. The training ended Wedndsday, and the last few days are usually about adrenaline, pampering and practicing the strutting. As coach, I will be by Tosca’s side this weekend as her supporter, her motivator and to tell her when and what to eat, drink, when to pump up and plump up her confidence right before she struts on stage.  She did all of her work over the last few months, listened and followed thropugh to a tee, and is now reaping the rewards and benefits of her new lean physique without having to race against the clock with extra hours of cardio. She is ready.

I wish Tosca so much love as she steps onto the stage at the Ontario Physique Association’s Oktoberfest Classic on Saturday, October 13th in Kitchener-Waterloo!
